Heemhuis Aarle-Rixtel:
Het Heemhuis' is the home of the local history society Barthold van Heessel and is housed in the originally 14th century 'Hoeve ten Coudenberghe'. The Heemhuis houses, among other things, a beautiful museum with various collections relating to Brabant village life and that of Aarle-Rixtel in particular. In addition to a large digital column with modern animations, the museum has various rooms with themed temporary exhibitions, including religion and devotion, archaeology, professions and crafts, and themes relating to everyday life in a Brabant village. In addition, there is another separate room in which all kinds of changing exhibitions are accommodated. Everything is supported by digital information. In the front house, in addition to the 'good room' (which can be visited free of charge), there is an old-fashioned 'herd', the upstairs room with the bed box and the cellar with barrel vaulting underneath. There is also a beautiful garden with a large terrace.

Opening hours:
The community centre can be visited every first Sunday of the month between 2 and 5 pm.

Group arrangements:
The Heemhuis is certainly also an ideal destination for groups, whether or not in combination with a visit to, for example, the old monumental bell foundry, the centuries-old Lady Chapel and Croy Castle. Various arrangements have been made for this.

The Heemkundekring Barthold van Heessel is Hospitable Ambassador of Toeristisch Laarbeek. Here you can get information about tourism in Laarbeek.
