A work of art that will only be placed in 2021, Foglia Pesante. The 'waving leaf' by artist Cees Meijer from Aarle-Rixtel was hoisted into place in February 2021 at the Groes in Beek en Donk. It was quite an undertaking, because the work of art weighs no less than 230 kilos and is almost three metres high. It is made of Belgian hard stone, which is millions of years old. The sculpture was deliberately placed in the ecological connection zone in Beek en Donk. The location is close to the new housing estate, which is why the work of art is considered to be the perfect example of art as connection. "A lot of people pass by here and it fits in very well with the background. It is a piece of nature and that suits the material very well. You can't get more natural than bluestone," said the artist when placing the sculpture.
