Former Merkelbach furniture and wood products factory in Lieshout
The main building dates from 1870.
The left part is the oldest and was used as a forge from the beginning.
The founder of this business was Franciscus Merkelbach, born in Lieshout on 22-12-1843.
After his death, three of his seven sons took over the business, namely Rudolphus, Marinus and Gerardus.
Two grandsons of the founder succeeded these three, namely Gerhardus and Franciscus.
Nowadays the factory has moved to De Stater, and in the old factories, residential houses have been established.
The building is on the monument list.
