Wide house
Burgemeester Frenckenstraat, formerly Binnenstraat, is named after Frencken, who was mayor of Asten for over 60 years from 1840 to 1904. He lives in this street, as do his parents. From 1675 onwards, this 'posh' street was also home to judges, doctors, merchants, civil servants and manufacturers, such as at number 47. In 1926, butcher Driek van Kemenade purchased this property; it is now a private residence once again.
