Best Getaway 2017 in Noord-Brabant
At this museum, you can see and smell what it was like on a farm anno 1900.
The Boerenbondsmuseum Gemert, where you experience life in a Brabant village at the beginning of last century. The museum is located in the birthplace of Father van den Elsen and houses a farm section with live animals. There is an atmospheric and authentic village square, with several craft houses, a village café and candy shop, a clog factory, a short-fronted farmhouse with Farmers' Loan Bank and a hand-powered pigeon factory.
Demonstrations are regularly given by volunteers and the fields and arable land around the museum are still worked as they were in the past. The Brabant conviviality reigns supreme and is a fun day out for young and old. For groups of 10 people or more, various arrangements are possible and Brabant coffee tables can be enjoyed.
After being voted the most enjoyable outing of Brabant 2016, the Boerenbondsmuseum has been awarded again. This time the museum was voted best family outing of Brabant 2017 in the category Museum and cultural history by readers of the Eindhovens Dagblad, among others. With an 8.96, the Boerenbondsmuseum was rated best in a number of categories.
This election is a great reward for the efforts of the more than 200 volunteers of the Boerenbondsmuseum and a nice boost for the start of the 2017 summer season.
