The Zandbos, the Vlierdense and Liesselse forests, the Dennendijkse and the Neerkantse forests are interspersed with friendly villages of Vlierden, Liessel, Neerkant and of course Deurne. A wonderful route through nature, you will enjoy the beautiful green surroundings of Deurne by bike.

Explore the versatile forests
The Zandbos is a fascinating forest area where many holidaymakers come. You can not only cycle, but also horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking and playing. Special plants such as Wollegras and Zonnedauw grow along the banks of the Buntven. The Vlierdense forests are also called Bikkelse forests because of the juniper bushes with their 'hard as nails' berries. The Liessel forests are known for the winding Astense Aa that meanders through the forest. The Peelrand fracture is visible in the landscape here. The Dennendijkse forests are named after the Astense Dennendijk, which used to be built as a quay, which had to keep the acidic peat water out of the once very swampy Groote Heide van Asten. In the Neerkantse woods you will find drifting dunes and coniferous trees, the whimsical Scots pine makes the forest special.
