Hiking in the Deurnese and Mariapeel

Spectacular nature and history
De Peel used to be a wild and inhospitable area of more than 30,000 ha. big. Only 4,500 hectares of high moor were preserved. More than a third of this is now De Groote Peel National Park. Around the former cattle colonies of Griendtsveen and Helenaveen you will also find beautiful remnants of this once extensive high moor area. The Deurnese Peel and Mariapeel are a special nature reserve where you can hike fantasticly.

How does the walking route network work?
The walking route network consists of nodes, numbers on the map and (yellow-green) signs or stickers in the field. By connecting the numbers, you can create your own route. The routes partly run on Limburg territory and are provided with red-yellow signage instead of green
