Monument Franciscustoren in Someren
A stone has been placed on the monument on which the history of the tower is briefly told.
Two large effigies, from the old community center De Ruchte and the old Kruisgebouw, have also been built into the tower. The text on the plaque indicates, among other things; “This tower reminds us of the Franciscan sisters from Oirschot who worked in Someren from 1870 to 1974”. A piece of cultural heritage that has been saved by a number of volunteers in Someren and has been given a nice place in the "Postelpark". A beautiful place if you consider that there was the vegetable garden of the former monastery and the bell called the sisters every day to the chapel to pray there...
