Walking routes around Het Woold

Walking is a healthy and sporty way of relaxation, 'emptying' your head, taking a walk with friends with a cup of coffee or a drink afterwards is really enjoyable.

After the construction of Golf Course Het Woold, between Heusden, the Groote Peel and the Starkriet, the question arose: can we also walk here in the area. There was a path around the fish pond, but after some research it turned out that there were no further connected walking paths.

After consultation with the Municipality of Asten and the Aa en Maas Water Board, the owners of Golf Course, Landgoed Het Woold, in collaboration with Ad Verhoeven De Peel, landscape and nature consultancy, have drawn up a plan for the design of three hiking trails.

These walking paths run partly over the grounds of the Golf Course, but are situated in such a way that walkers do not enter the golf course, with safety being paramount. The walks always start and end at the clubhouse of Golfbaan het Woold. Parking is free, and there are also electric charging stations available. You can get free maps of the hiking routes at the reception.

You can choose from three routes of different lengths, which are marked with yellow, red and blue colored posts.

Yellow route
The yellow route is about 7 km long and runs via the Korhoenweg, along the golf course, via the Gedenkbos, to the hamlet of Behelp, via the Starkriet, over the weir of the old stream De Aa, from here via the Weerterpad, into the woods along the golf course back to the starting point.

Red route
This route is approximately 4.5 km long and partly follows the yellow route, but runs back to the starting point via the Broekstraat and the Weerterpad.

Blue route
This route is approximately 3.5 km long and runs entirely through the woods of De Witte Bergen, partly around the fish pond.

While walking these routes you can not only enjoy the particularly beautiful nature on and around the golf course, but you can also take a look at the Ekoboerderij Sengersbroek with farm shop, the Organic farm Sumiran with regional shop and the sculpture garden Artheo. Benches and information boards have also been placed in various places.

After the walk you can have a chat in golf restaurant Volentieri or on the terrace of golf course Het Woold while enjoying a snack and a drink.

Hikers are asked to respect nature, so dogs on a leash, no smoking, stay on the paths and certainly no litter. If groups want to walk under the guidance of a guide, you can ask for information at the reception in the clubhouse of the Woold golf course.

We wish you a lot of walking pleasure all year round.
