Mini-maestro

until 13 April

Primary school kids take over the baton during Mini-Maestro.

They become the youngest conductors in the Netherlands! Five pupils from De Sprankel in Lieshout get to conduct a real wind band with eighty musicians. This will happen during the mini-maestro concert of Harmonie St Caecilia.

How does it feel to set an orchestra of eighty musicians in motion with one small movement? To make them play at your pace? How does it feel to be a conductor? No Dutch celebrities but children from grades five to eight get to experience that. Prior to this special evening, the budding conductors are taught by music teacher Sophie de Ruijter. During preliminary rounds at school, five mini conductors will be selected, who will get a master class (with orchestra) and then get to climb the baton during a real concert.
