Laarbeek crown shooting at St Antonius Guild

The Guild of Saint Anthony Beek and Donk will hold the annual Laarbeek King's Shoot. Laarbeek guild brothers and sisters and other interested parties are welcome at shooting accommodation 't Wipke on Zwinkelweg in Beek and Donk.
After blessing, the wooden king's bird is placed on the shooting mast, followed by a few short speeches. Then the outgoing Laarbeek king, Eric Prinsen of the Sint Servatius guild Lieshout, sheds his shield.
The shooting competition starts at 2.30pm. The shooter who shoots off the last piece of the bird may call himself Laarbeek King for the coming year. The Laarbeek King represents the five Laarbeek guilds at joint guild activities and official municipal activities involving the guilds.
