Sponsorwandeltocht Amnesty

Several Amnesty groups from the Brabant region are organizing a sponsor walk of over 36 km on Liberation Day, May 5. Through the beautiful Brabant countryside, largely following the river Aa, the route goes from Gemert via Veghel to the Liberation Festival in Den Bosch.
The start in Gemert is in the morning at 5:30 a.m. from the club building of hiking sports club.
                    
Several Amnesty groups from the Brabant region are organizing a sponsor walk of over 36 km on Liberation Day, May 5. Through the beautiful Brabant countryside, largely following the river Aa, the route goes from Gemert via Veghel to the Liberation Festival in Den Bosch.
The start in Gemert is at dawn at 5:30 a.m. from the club building of walking sports club ZUTh. The departure from the Kildonkse molen is at 10 a.m., and arrival in Den Bosch is expected around 2 p.m. At the Kilsberg mill, halfway through the hike, there is a break point. This is also where participants can begin or end the walk. The purpose of the walk is first of all to actively celebrate freedom with like-minded people, with a beautiful walk that ties in with the Liberation Festival. Secondly, walkers are asked to donate a nice amount for the work of Amnesty International. Participants can also actively look for sponsors in their own neighborhood for this purpose. Through the walk, Amnesty draws attention to countries where peace and freedom are under severe pressure. Human rights in Iran are the focus this year. Since late last year, extreme violence has been used to put down protests, resulting in many deaths. Numerous protesters have also been sentenced to death. Amnesty hopes for a large number of participants, "who can experience freedom together in a sporty way during a beautiful walk through the nature of Brabant, with a nice proceeds for charity."
